I was a solo practitioner with one staff person. We had no pattern for review meetings or structure of planning. We were largely working in just managing assets. My career as a financial advisor began in 2010 by joining my father's practice. He'd started with IDS in 1981, grew a successful practice, and was looking to retire. We hired Saša to help us in a number of different capacities. We needed help developing our systems, improving our practice efficiency, and in making our transition successful. Saša's leadership and guidance were instrumental in making that first transition a success. We worked together in a coaching relationship for three years as I was a solo practitioner, during which time my AUM grew from roughly $60mm to over $90mm, and my GDC grew from $300k to $900k. In 2017, I partnered with another advisor with a similar practice, and formed Fiduciam Financial. Forming a larger practice and managing a larger team presented new complexities to navigate, and again Saša's coaching and leadership were massively helpful to get us all rowing in the same direction and laying a solid foundation for growth. At present, we're a team of 19, we've successfully completed seven acquisitions, and are developing the next generation of advisors. We have an incredible team culture and are making progress at a rate that even surprises me sometimes.
